5 Months Old

I know this is Tristan's 5 month post, however, this picture truly reminds me of how much he has changed and how much bigger he is now! He was about a month old in this picture and he was in a newborn outfit. He was most likely not much more than 5 lbs. God is so good. Go below to see him now!!!

Today marks Tristan's 5 month birthday! As I say every month, I CAN"T BELIEVE IT!!! He is growing and changing so quickly. At Tristan's 4 month checkup, the dr suggested that we start rice cereal at 5 months. What better way to celebrate today than to give it a try! Well, I probably picked the worst time of day to try it. Tristan was already fussy, but I did not want to lose out on the opportunity. Shame on me! He cried through the whole experience but I do not really think it is because of the rice. I think he was just tired as it was. He ate, or should I say licked, about 3 small spoonfuls. That was as far as we got. Oh, well. We will try again tomorrow!

What to know about our little man these days...

• enjoyed his first swim
• loves to be kissed (its a good thing!!!)
• is starting to grab everything, especially Mommy's hair and necklace
• loves to make motor boat sounds
• is alert and watches EVERYTHING and EVERYONE
• is starting to pet Beamer
• loves bath time
• loves his jumparoo
• sleeps through the night, aprox 9-10 hours

And to be added to the list above, he is VERY loved and cherished! We thank God daily for the blessing he has given us. Tristan is an amazingly good baby who we love VERY much!

Growing and Changing

I thought it would be fun to post two videos I have of Tristan. I have loads but they would be pretty boring for you! Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

This past weekend, Tristan discovered the art of blowing bubbles. He does this ALL the time now!




Tristan spends a lot of time playing with us on his blanket. He does well with tummy time, although it is not his favorite. This video was this morning. He was having a good time!

While we were at the lake, we were not comfortably able to put Tristan in the water. The water level was really high and we could not see below the surface. There was not a beach because the water was up above it. Because of all of this, Tristan did not get to swim like we had hoped. He finally got to swim yesterday at my mom and dad's house. Ryan was at camp with the youth group and so Tristan and I went to Chesterfield to visit my parents. Thursday night we got in very briefly. My dad started off by putting Tristan's tiny toes and feet in. Friday was nice and hot out so we lotioned up and went for a "real" swim. Tristan seemed to like it! He was not laughing or cooing, but he was not crying or screaming either :) I put him in his crab floatie and he liked splashing in the water. He started to get the hang of kicking his feet as well. I had so much fun soaking up the enjoyment of his first offical swim. I love being a Mommy!!!

Lazy Lake Days

This is the life! We then got the pack and play set up and Tristan slept soundly for over two hours! What a nice place for a nap :)

We spend alot of time on the lake in the summer. We went for Father's Day which I know I already mentioned. I did forget to tell you that Tristan wore his life jacket and went on the boat for the first time! The poor guy looked like a giant marshmallow. The boat rocked him right to sleep. We probably will not take him on there again until next summer. The poor little thing was too short for his life jacket so he was not able to sit properly in my lap. It must have been so uncomfortable. So, we will wait until he is taller :)

We went back to the lake on Monday, June 22nd. We took out good friend Kim and Frank and their son Jackson. We had a GREAT time! It took us awhile with the kidos to get actually to the water, but once we were there, we had a ball. We are thankful for all these fun times and experiences! I hope that one day Tristan loves the water as much as his family does. I think he will, though. He loves to be outside and seems to just take it all in. He is out kind of kid :)

Father's Day

Father's Day came and left so quickly!!

Saturday, we went to the lake with my parents and enjoyed being on/by the water and just hanging out. It was nice to be able to spend some time with my parents as well. My dad is an amazing water skier. He claims he is too old, haha, but he sure can move on his slalom ski! I remember when he taught me to water ski growing up. He would put me on his lap (literally) while he was skiing. I would rap my legs around his since I was too small to reach his feet. I couldn't have been much older than 5 or 6. Then I learned to ski on my own. We never got to go enough that I got to be really good. I learned the basics of getting up and falling down :) But nonetheless, I have great memories with my dad and the water. It was nice to be able to spend time with him for Father's Day weekend! I love him so much and I treasure those times with him!

As for Ryan and his FIRST ever father's day, Tristan and I went into the bedroom while Ryan was still sleeping to wake him up. We weren't trying to be mean, but he had to get up for church anyways. We sang a nice little made up Father's Day song, and Tristan handed Ryan a card from him. Then we gave him his gifts and it was on to church! Tristan and I basically missed the church service. We got to walk outside and look at cows and bugs and everything but sit inside and listen to the message. This was the only time he ever fussed like this during church. He was hungry and I couldn't get the formula (powder) to come out of the bottle. It was a mess. After church we went to Ruby Tuesday's to celebrate Father's Day with Paul. We had a nice leisurly lunch and then home we went.

Happy Father's Day Ryan, Dad, Paul and Bob! We love you all so much!

Whooty Whooty Ryan is Thirty!!!

It is so hard to believe that Ryan is now the big 3-0!!! On June 11th, Ryan had his "real birthday" but this past Saturday we had a little party to celebrate his big day. Ryan's Mom and Paul and his Dad and Pat were all able to make it as well as my parents and the Harris family. We had a nice, relaxing time enjoying the nice (humid) evening, good food and great friends and family! The boys really enjoyed playing ladder ball and Tristan enjoyed seeing all his grandparents and sleeping/drooling on Granddad. We are SO blessed to have the family we have.

Happy Birthday, Ryan! I love you so much. You are an amazing husband to me and father to Tristan. God sure knew what he was doing when he made you :) You have changed many lives and touched many hearts. Happy 30th Birthday!!!

The Bad with the Good....

You are probably wondering why in the world I posted this picture... Honestly, I think it is hilarious! This is one of the pictures that Ryan sent me at work. I seriously laughed out loud when I opened it! No matter how grossed out we get by yuckie baby stuff, every bit of it is worth it to have Tristan in our lives! We love him SO much, spit up and all.

Daddy's Boy

I have to say, Tristan is most definitely a Daddy's Boy!!! Ryan has been staying home with Tristan since I had to go back to work. We are SO blessed to be able to do this. There is nothing better than knowing that Tristan is safe at home :)

With that being said, Ryan gets a lot of time to spend with his son. (I was a little jealous... :) ) Ryan would send me emails throughout the day telling me what was going on with my 2 boys. On many occasions, he would attach pictures for me to enjoy. I really REALLY appreciated this! I LOVED being able to see what was going on at home. I want to share some of the pictures that Ryan would send me... ENJOY!!

Apology...

I wanted to tell you that I'm so sorry for taking so long to BLOG again :) I was trying to get through the last few weeks of school plus deal with a few other things going on. Now, school is officially OUT for the summer! WOOO HOOO! So, hopefully this morning I will be able to update you on a few things going on in the Frey household. I hope you are all doing well!!!
